Here's my trick for determining the field I'm playing in for an audition.
I'll go into an audition and before recording, I'll trot out my primary choice (character voice or approach) by saying, "I'll bet you're getting this all day." 50% of the time, the producer or casting person says yes, and 50% say no. If yes, I go to my second choice.
Now that's HUGE!--when you think about the odds of a talent lining up with ALL THE REST with a similar choice is 50%.
You want to STAND OUT. |
