Suddenly, the MAC version of Skype crashes on startup. Anyone else having this issue? All fixes suggested by Skype site uneventful when tried.

Thanks in advance.

I keep hearing horror stories about the Skype for OS X since the Micky$oft purchase. I'd suggest getting an older version and installing it. What are you running? I'm using OS X 10.6.8 (Snow Leopard) with Skype 6.1 and everything is fine (it's in use on a daily basis).

In the PC world, the Microsoft/Facebook/Skype integration has been wonderful. It's giving me reason to ditch Google products altogether (which one really needed to use on a PC in the past...not so much anymore!) Sorry that it's been horrible for others. It shouldn't be, agreed.

Update. I had an old version of Call Recorder (eCamm Demo Trial) on my Mac...it was incompatible with new download version of SKYPE and caused the crash. Updated Call Recorder and SKYPE once again runs flawlessly. Thanks for the suggestions!

Perhaps the latest version has bugs?

FWIW, I just "upgraded" to the newest version of Skype on my netbook, and now I can't make video calls - only audio!!! Apparently you need a dual-core CPU to run the latest version of Skype, and my weak Atom CPU isn't powerful enough. But it worked just fine with the previous version, so I'll have to try and find it and reinstall it on my netbook.
