Any suggestions on road recording/monitoring?

I pack a little Altec Lansing Orbit speaker and while not bad for short auditions and such, I'm always somewhat horrified when I play back the road stuff on my home system. Pops clicks rough edits. U name it. Ah, the quest for good road recording solution never ends

A good ol' pair of Sony 7506s (or whatever you use at home). Thatll give you consistency.

Always mindful of traveling light, how compact are those?

Probably just as compact as those speakers. They fold up nicely and come with a great little carrying bag.

Sennheiser PX100's or Koss PortaPros... both sound amazingly good and fold up very small.

Tough call. I found a great deal on the Sony's and pulled the trigger, but the other two look more compact, which is key. My problem really is playback monitoring. Trying to get a true reflection of what U
I recorded

While I can't speak to their comparison to a lot of the high end headphones that many people use, I have used (and beat the heck out of) a pair of the 7506s for the past three years, and they've never let me down. I know a lot of people use them (probably because they sound good and are CHEAP). I know there are better headphones, but for the money, these have been my pick.
