I voiced a PSA for the City of Calgary and learned stuff I didn't know about composting. Did you know that apples and other food waste should NOT be thrown in the garbage? Do you know why?

I love it. This is one of the reasons I'm pursuing narrations - so many interesting things to learn that you never even knew you wanted to know! Smile

(...sent from the land where they implemented the composting program alongside the existing recycling, and now they only pick up the garbage itself every other week!) Wink

Great job as always Kristin! Here in Portland, they adopted a composting law. We have curbside composting pickup, along with a recycling bin and regular trash bin. When you start separating your trash into what's useful and what's not, the 'not' bin get's pretty small.

Personally, we keep our compost and re-feed to the kids... just a joke. However we do use it all as we have a lot of growing room and a greenhouse. Nothing better for new growth, than broken down old growth.

we're currently mulling over how to keep the pup outta the pile of coffee grinds, banana peels, veggie scraps, coffee grinds, lettuces, coffee grinds, and a few paper filters (unbleached!) along with some coffee grinds.

Thanks, you guys. And Julia -- you made my day... Laugh

Rick and Jen -- I wish our city was as proactive as yours. I consider myself a Green person... but I'm Lazy-Green. I believe in saving the earth, but I wish I could do it from the comfort of my house. But we do recycle, even though we have to load everything in the car and drive to the recycling bins... So we create air pollution while we're saving the earth, I guess.

I would agree with the sentiment, its really fun to get paid to learn and read aloud. I recently did the narration for a set of children's books about "Sir Cumference", its a Knight whose adventures revolves around math (son is named Radius, his wife is Lady Di of Ameter, etc). It was fun to be silly and do all the different voices and at the end of the session, completely understand the quadratic equation. Crazy!

I'm not going to share with you all the various things I've learned about aircraft maintenance, 'conversational hypnosis' (sadly, I'm not jesting), or how to fix a Fontaine trailer lamp, simply because I don't want anyone getting too excited.

And I'm not sure what all Kristin said in that video because - yet AGAIN - I'm so smitten by her voice I just sit here and wipe the drool off my chin. Yeah, gross, I know. But to think... I knew her when!

Seriously, Kristin, you're one of the best I've ever heard. I mean it.

Aww, Scott -- can you just follow me around during the day and say things to boost my confidence...? I'll pay you -- at least scale. Laugh

You're the sweetest -- thank you! Laugh
