I received a "blind" email asking to hear what I can do with VO. I respond with my demo and ask what the project entails?

The possible client mentions it is for a feature movie character voice. (I am still in the dark) I then mention I would provide a sample from his script if that would help him with selection.

I am provided a short script with this direction: "the man is in his 70's with a slight Western accent".

O.K.: What does a 70ish year old man sound like?

If you can figure it out you are a better man that me....

Frank F

P.S.: Sorry for the rant.

I was going to say... sounds like me on a really bad day. But then I wonder what kind of 70ish old man they're looking for? Aged with lousy health or aged in a perfect world.

Anthony Hopkins... Robert Redford... Dustin Hoffman

He sounds like an 80ish man only a bit younger.

Having been a character observer of older men all my life I've specialized in playing them since I was 30 something (old way before my time!).

If you want to pass on the gig, feel free to send it my way, sonny.

My wild imagination is getting the best of me... now I have a picture of some sound which meshes Bailey and Bruce into one superb 70 year old in my head....

Gotta stop myself.
