Today, late this afternoon I travel south by car then aeroplane to VOX2013 the great VO jamboree.

It'll be AWESOME!

Formal part of building my skillset? No. Beer and pies with friends.

Thoroughly enjoyable day and evening and great to see Philip and Elisa who are looking really well. The new organisers did themselves proud. Various round table seminars such as Ask The Producer. Microphones and technique. Accounting for voiceovers. Protools. A discussion on voiceover direction from a producers perspective and the keynote speech on The Equity Radio Rate Card.

Afterwards, a gala dinner and award ceremony followed by dancing to a live band and drinking until... well.... I went to bed at 3:20, but others stayed up until 6:30!!

So good to catch up with voiceover pals and producers alike, I had some really inspiring discussions with colleagues and actually feel invigorated and raring to go after this weekend. My VO friends are so generous with their advice and experiences, it's such a lovely community to be a part of. Horray for VOX!

Henceforth it will be called "Have you got a minute?" I spent AGES on Saturday trying to get to places and never managing to get to them because somene would always take my arm and say ...."have you got a minute?"

Chatted again with dear friends I've not seen in a while. Made a few new friends. Rekindled an old professional friendship. Met a lot of nice people. Took my career to the next level.
