I don't know how many of you remember that Minewurx Studios is sponsoring the Voice Over contest for those of us relatively new to the biz. The first round of eliminations was just announced. The first round took the number from 44 contestants to the top 20.
I MADE IT! WOOHOO! I was ranked 7th out of the top 20. My audition was submitted back in the beginning of May. I have improved immensely since then and have a whole new studio setup as well. So I'm really looking forward to this next round. Just had to share with you all. I'm very excited!

Congrats. I thought about entering but I could not meet the noise requirements. Don't have "real" equipment yet.

GOOD LUCK !!!!

Thanks everyone. I know you all are beyond the contest stage, but man I could sure use the studio produced demo and 10 weeks of voice coaching that are being given to the winner. I appreciate the support....thanks all, you guys are great.
And Dave.....don't fret "Little One"....one day you WILL be just like me....stop practicing and go stagnate for about 10 years and you too will achieve my level of success.....hahahahahahaha. Wink Laugh

I have my studio produced demo in the critique forum which I did after about 10 weeks or so of voice coaching and so far the response has not exactly been overwhelming.

I think that quite a few of the demos that people on this board produce at home are better than mine (and probably less expenseive too I bet). I sure which I could win sparkly new (free) one!

At any rate, good luck, I hope you take the cake!

thanks Greg....I appreciate it....and thanks to you too mr. Rodriguez. You have to understand that these people (Most of them) have been in this biz for years and years and are top notch pros....alot of them are just as adept at production as they are at "voice talking" Wink so they are just as good at producing demos as someone who does it for a living.....and these pros are always putting their demos in the critique section to be critiqued so they can continuously make them even better. Don't be too hard on your demo....let them be hard on your demo and it will become better and better as you implement the advice they give.

Coincidentally, jrodriguez315 was one of the names I was considering when I was expecting my son. For a girl we couldn't decide between Katie and princessbridehottie1988. We ended up naming him Thomas Devon.

LMAO! That is hilarious Amy! In the event of a girl I would have definitely gone with Hottie1988...although I understand that's a rather common name now. Laugh
