The first audiobook I recorded on ACX just broke 1000 in sales. That is pretty exciting for me! I think back on that book and remember the agony that I went through to deliver a 4 hour book in less than two months. Cracks me up that I could do it in a few days now.

Just wanted to share the victory!

Cool Jason!

How long did it take?

That's not too shabby... not too shabby at all!

Every time I do any due diligence, the book slugs along slowly. My biggest sales have happened out of the blue on titles I didn't expect to take off. So, was yours luck or research?

Mega luck. This was the first audiobook I auditioned for, and I got lucky. Plus it was a book about social media marketing...so the author no doubt did some of the things she teaches in the book. I had one day where 90 copies sold out of the blue...it was fun. Smile

Satisfying indeed...especially when checks keep showing up in the mail. Mr. Bergen is right, royalties/residuals are the way to go. Too bad that's my only ones.

Good job, man. Mailbox money is great. It's like a free check every month.

Pardon the (audiobook) newbie question, but how does one go about obtaining sales figures for an audiobook, in particular, an Audible.com book?

For books that are self produced for authors via ACX.com, the numbers are available in you ACX login. I also get a monthly report with the royalty check that breaks it down by website and country.
