I know some people here rave about WAVES. Is the Gold package good for VO? Well if it is, the normally $800 package is on sale todayonly at Front End Audio for $299. I'm a happy customer of FEA, but I don't get anything for this mention, fyi.

I saw that, and seriously considered it. Not much in there that I'd use for VO, but I record music too.

It can be useful for fully produced voiceover (i.e. maximizer, compressor, reverb, EQ, etc.), but for dry VO the only thing I normally use is the DeEsser. It's a good price, though, because if you only bought the DeEsser individually, it would cost you $100.00 direct from Wave. So, for the price of three average plugins, you'd get around 30 plugins. Not a bad deal.

Just FYI, Waves has this deal going on directly, so it's not just FEA offering it:

Thanks for this thread; I was going to post a similar one. If anyone is looking to buy this, my friend Brad at Pacific Pro Audio has it for an even better price. Ping me and I'll happily send you to him to grab it.

Note that I don't get anything for this. Brad's a friend and a good guy , but that's the extent of my connection; just sharing a good deal. Smile

The Renaissance EQ and compressor are great for v-o, and the V-Compressor and V-EQ are nice flavors to have if you're looking for vintage analog emulations. The L-1 Ultramaximizer is a decent limiter.

How do these plug-ins compare to the garden variety VST plug-ins for a Mac computer?

I use those and they seem okay, and I don;t really like to get too detailed with compression since I know just enough to be dangerous, .....BUT...........

I use the RVox for VO but I don't see it in the bundle...

L1, Ren EQ, Ren Comp, C1, C4 and H - Comp.. would seem to be the ones I probably would use most.. is it worth 300 beans? Its definitely an upgrade over the AU Apple plugs, though the differences to most would be subtle..

they probably mean that if the license is loaded to the flash drive you can use that, instead of the iLok....which is what I do

Wow, on the Flash, I did not know that. I wonder if Tom pulled the trigger on the purchase, I guess that would be a good deal assuming that you used a few of the plugs. The purchase of just the individual ones (about 3) would be that or more.

Thank you for the input.

P.S. Lee...what are you using for a Mic, Killer sound!

Bill

I did not purchase this myself. I already own Renaissance Vox, Compressor and Equalizer from an earlier package. This was more of a community alert for those who wanted these plug-ins at a good price.

Honestly, I've never taken the time to train myself on using these tools. i do not do any sort of major production, I send out raw files mostly - maybe a little compression on auditions.

I would think they would be a necessity if you were voicing and producing radio imaging.
