not vo - but there are some video folk here too --- so ---

i am ever on the hunt for the perfect DSLR cage - so i built this one over the weekend.

drew up the template in photoshop

traced it out on 1/4"x3" aluminum

cut out the rough shape

stuck some handles & quick release on it

top view: windows to see camera controls

bottom view: notch to change battery without removing from cage

finished: replaced hex nuts on top/bottom with countersunk screws - much better & added a couple of hotshoe mounts

since i had the manfrotto quick release & stick of aluminum laying around anyway the whole project cost me less than $5 --- the grips are from a retired mop handle i saved ... because i'm wacky that way.

Wow, that is awesome Todd.

Pretty sure if you ever have the thought of 'Hmm I'm the market for a new car', you could build it Smile

BTW, you can now get 14 bit RAW 24p video with the Magic Lantern hack from your 5DMkIII. Game Changer.

Again, more Terrific Tinkering from Tool-Time Todd!

I'll bet you kicked ass at Build-a-Bear when the kids were little.
