Since moving into my booth I've found myself with a need for a stopwatch. You ever tried to find one that doesn't beep?
So, I paid just under 10 bucks for this one at the local sporting goods store:
Popped it open:
The big round object on the right is the speaker. I snipped the red wire, put it back together and now I've got a stopwatch that's nice and quiet.
It's a nice easy mod that anybody can do with a small screwdriver and a pair of snips. _________________ Hart Voice Overs Blog

I love posts like this one. Simple how-to, picture - the only thing missing is a voice-over and animated scissors.
Thanks Brian! |

Brian,
I also bought one about two weeks ago and it beeped as well. Mine did not have wires attached to it...just a couple of contact springs. I took the disc out and tossed it in the trash. Nice-n-quiet now |

Brian,
This reminds me of a line from an old Richard Harris movie. He's playing the leader of a bomb demolition team. At one point in the movie he's talking with the young apprentice type, as they're looking at the classic two wires and wondering which one to clip. T
he young fellow asks him, "What if you guess wrong?"
Harris replies, "Death is God's way of telling you that you're in the wrong business." _________________ Be well,

Hmmmm black wires.... Ya know, I always have to talk it through when I'm jumpstarting a car battery.
Red to red, black to black, minus to minus, plus to plus. Is that even correct???!! _________________ sitting at #8, though not as present as I'd like to be. Hello!

Diane,
Yes, but only regarding "jumping batteries" and nothing else in the car maintenance arena, I assure you. (I'd rather make the money and pay someone else to do the work than do it myself.)
And the "jumping batteries" thing is only because I'm from Minnesota originally. In the winter, we didn't play basketball there, we went out in the parking lots and practiced jumping batteries.
As for VO expertise, I'm just a "voice talking" apprentice sitting at the feet of all the real experts around here. And grateful they let me come over and play. _________________ Be well,
