I'm sure most of us have bartered v/o for goods/services in the past.

Thought it might be fun to share some of them.

A local lady who hosts a cooking show (local cable tv only) and I have been friends for years. In exchange for voicing little :15 sponsor spots for her (you know, the ones you'd ordinarily charge maybe $50 - $75 for), she provides me with lots of her own brand of packaged coffee and to me, it's WELL worth the barter.

And just recently I'm doing some voicemail stuff with my wife's chiropractor in exchange for some free adjustments and massages. Yay!

Still working on the local Porsche dealer for a barter without much luck though. Wink

Share yours!

I have a buddy who does marketing and we recently struck up a deal. I'm going to voice some training videos for him and he is going to do a bunch of marketing/SEO stuff for me.

I barter all the time. I voice things for my clients and they give me some of their money. It's works well.

I once did some radio spot work for a restaurant in exchange for a BUNCH of free meals. That was back when I was first getting started, however.

Back when I first joined Voice123, one of my first successful auditions was for a graphic designer in the UK. It was a very small job for not much money. At the time I wanted to get my logo professionally touched up and that was going to cost two or three times what this job paid, so I proposed an even-up trade and he agreed. It was a good deal for both of us, sort of like each of us getting the other's service "wholesale."

Supply far outweighs demand.

That's the kind of project that can leave you in the red, though.
