Graeme and Scott: Exactly my thoughts. As for the accent the client is after, they obviously must perceive it to be Southern, as they specified both Sam Elliott and a Southern accent. And they've gone so far as to request the talent to tell how they grew up on a farm or ranch... clearly from a mental image they have formed based on that (false) perception.
I'm sure there must be farms and there may even be a few ranches in Oregon, but I guess Sam Elliott really grew up at Southfork. _________________ Mike

Was the director, perhaps, looking for somewhat of a cross between Sir Frederick Laker and Sir Richard Branson, with a hint of Sam Elliott?
Nicely done, of course, Philip. _________________ Mike
