Todd, you sound like my kinda guy. It would be an honor to come by and eat some squirrel next time I'm through there. _________________ There are rules to the Universe. Learn them and prosper. www.HumbleVoiceover.com |

I had squirrel one time...not my favorite. I did shoot it with a bow from 30 yards though! |

Todd, that pic looks like the start (or end) of a good day hunting,
or a selfie gone horribly, horribly wrong. _________________ Doug Turkel (tur-KELL)

it was a beautiful evening with boy#3 --- stayed in the woods until dark - cleaned our haul then ate dinner (ribeye).
also --- fried squirrel is tough.
squirrel stew
3 or 4 squirrels
3-4 quarts water
1/4 cup diced bacon
1/4 tsp red pepper
2 tsp salt
1 large onion chopped
4 cups diced tomatos
2 cups dices potatoes
2 cups corn
1/4 tsp pepper
cut up the squirrels, place in a pan & add water, bring to a boil & reduce heat. simmer an hour & a half - 2 hours. skim the surface every now & then. remove the meat from bones & return to water. add bacon, red pepper, salt, pepper, onion, tomatoes & potatoes. cook for another hour. add the corn & cook for another 10 minutes. 8-10 servings _________________ "i know philip banks": todd ellis

A little late to the party, but here's my path...
- Developed an interest in the performing arts in my pre-teens by lip-syncing to Bill Cosby's "I Started Out As a Child" album for my younger brothers. (Memorized the entire album. I can still recite bits of it now.)
- Started doing community theatre near the end of my high school days.
- Simultaneously developed an interest in computer graphics and programming
- Decided to study 3D character animation
- Worked as an animator and animation supervisor for seven years.
- While doing that, had numerous opportunities to voice secondary/background characters
- After getting hired (and paid quite well) for a couple character VO gigs, I decided to take VO more seriously. Started studying and training.
- Quit animating in early 2008, largely due to stress; moved to programming at the same studio. Still studying VO on the side
- Created my commercial demo in mid-2009.
- Signed with a local agent in early 2010.
- Decided that I couldn't suppress the acting bug any longer, and quit my day job in mid-2012.
Still struggling to make solid headway with acting and VO, so I fill the (rather substantial) gaps by programming, teaching an online class for an animation school, and doing costume character work for a local resort. _________________ Justin S. Barrett

Justin, what program did you work in? My wife was a 3D animator for almost 20 years, working mainly in 3D Studio Max. But when she was suddenly, and without warning, let go from the Weather Channel almost a year ago, she'd had enough and quit the corporate world completely. Today she works as an ass't manager at a doggie daycare/grooming place, making 1/4 what she used to make, and is the happiest I've ever seen her. _________________ Scott R. Pollak

I think we've talked about this before, Scott. While I did use Max at one studio for about 9 months, most of my time as an animator and developer was spent using Maya. The online class that I teach is "Intro to Maya," to help people get a feel for the software before they dive into the school's animation or character design programs. _________________ Justin S.
