Another interesting change at V123: Now you get rated by stars apparently. Just had a voice seeker rate me 4 stars out of 4. I assume it means "good" since I was also rated 1st with no one else tying me.

Interesting they'd change it. Maybe they actually HAVE been listening to the endless complaints about the befuddling "Finalist", "Maybe", "Not Likely" and "You Really Suck" ratings system.

I think the stars are an improvement.

One star is so much better than "you suck."

Well even a one-star rating would be better than the words "will not be considered," as if you are massively horrible with terrible sound quality and no acting skill

If V123 is following this thread, I guess I shouldn't suggest they fine tune their "star" rating system with Gold... Silver... and Bronze stars.

i suggest a more user-friendly "thumbs up" system ... with multiple thumbs of various colors signifying like or dislike. it's very simple:

5 blue thumbs = we like you and will consider you
4 blue thumbs + 1 green thumb = we like you, and will consider to consider you
3 blue thumbs + 2 green thumbs = we listened and we're thinking about it
3 green thumbs + one yellow thumb = you have room to grow
2 yellow thumbs + 3 gray thumbs = we listened and nearly liked you
3 yellow thumb + 1 gray thumb + 1 mauve thumb = we nearly listened, but still like you
4 green thumbs + 1 blue thumb = plant mums after labor day
5 white thumbs = we think you are a racist
4 red thumbs = 1 white thumb = you are insensitive to football players from the district of columbia


check the website --- there are 181 more combinations - it is VERY clear.

I believe there are a few of our number here who have used Voice123.com to do casting a time or three, so perhaps one of them will chime in here to correct me if I'm wrong; but I believe the rating experience for those doing the casting has always looked like this with the stars. So, the only real change here is to let us see the results the same way they look when being awarded.

And, if I recall correctly, the most recent "Finalist, Considering, Maybe, etc." system was adopted when people complained about the stars we used to get.
Stars, words, or whatever -- it still remains much ado about nothing.
