That was suitably magnificent.

I never got to see the Concorde in flight but I did hear it. The woman I was dating in the late 1970s lived relatively near Bradley International Airport and was also a flying enthusiast. One evening a plane flew over her apartment that sounded like nothing we had ever heard before. The next day we learned that poor weather in NY had forced the Concorde to be diverted from JFK to Bradley.

Thanks for the kind comments everyone - it's really nice to get feedback when you work in such isolation like most of us do.

The Concorde piece has been good to me in many ways but sometimes it's been a rod for my own back. Often clients have asked for "that Concorde read" on their work, but they don't supply copy that is remotely similar. For big savings on your next Ford, head down to blah blah blah...

Anyway, I think that's the second piece I've shared in a week, having hid my light under a bushel for a few years here on vo bb. Time I withdrew to the cave again!

All the best

Colin

Indeed. Ultimately "it" -- however we want to define what "it" is -- comes from the writing. And not all subjects take wing.
