Hello all. Hope you've had a great holiday season.
I've decided to splash out, as it is the season of giving and receiving, and will be buying myself a nice TLM 103. I currently have an MXL V69 and it's horrible.
My question is - which preamp should I go for to compliment this beautiful mic?
I've been looking at a Universal Audio 710. I loooove the old school tube sound that it pumps out. Does anyone have any experience with these two together?
My other thought was that an Aphex 230 might work quite well. It seems to do a LOT, but I've heard mixed reviews. I'm also not sure that I'd necessarily need all of that extra compression etc.
Does anyone have any thoughts? Clip of my voice below:
