Another recommendation - can't find any mentions on Equator D5 in here. It's a monitor that's been arround for a couple of years and they have caused quite a stirr in the music studio business. I got a pair and haven't really used my huge expensive Dynadio BM15's since.

The special part is that they have a coaxial design. Which means that they dont have seperate bass and tweeter driver. The sound emits from a single point which means no phasing weirdness between the drivers. The sound is precise and balanced - it's a treat to cut, process and mix voices on these. If you need to go really loud there's also a big brother called D8.

The really great part is that they're only 389$ for a pair (yes they're active) the not so great part - they weren't exactly first in line when the speaker god handed out good looks.
