Bill,
Funny enough, I was just delving into Section 12 of the Zephyr manual which deals with remote controlling. It really looks like that! _________________ Joe Szymanski

Now that you mention it Joe, maybe I did see something along those lines deep inside my Prima manual years ago. I squeezed my eyes shut really tight and made it go away. My tech expertise stops at Red Light = Locked. |

Justin thanks for sharing this, works perfect with SKYPE and Adobe Audition, will try it on ipDTL when I get around to subscribing. _________________ jonahcummings |

Gah!!!!
You're going to have to talk me through setting this up Bob. I have iPDTL but haven't had time to even test it yet to see if it's working.
But this solution could work wonderfully for me in my new apt. without having to install ISDN there as well as having it in the house. |

I just did a successful connection from my Droid phone.
ISDN from your phone. Let that sink in for a minute... _________________ Joe Szymanski

Kristin--
I was joking about the equation I made it up! But as Joe said, the codec manuals have stuff just as undecipherable. |

Melissa,
Hopefully I can walk you through it. I'm under an avalanche of audiobooks at the moment, but we'll talk soon. _________________ Be well,

Bob is using a Mackie mixer with the very helpful "Alt" bus, which makes this all possible and easy to setup. I've had several clients hire me to configure their own ISDN bridge setups, so if that's something that appeals to you, let me know. I can either hand hold through the entire process or just draw diagrams with descriptions of every setting on both the hardware and software side.
I feel one key item that is a must-have to be as self-sufficient as possible is a remote power switch to restart finicky PC's and ISDN boxes. It's your last resort if things go really south, but could really save your butt. This is the model I've used with success (and trust me, I tried a few, they are hard to find): http://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B007SP64SM/ref=oh_details_o06_s00_i01?ie=UTF8&psc=1
You'll need port map to it so you can access it from outside your LAN, but well worth the peace of mind. _________________ If it sounds good, it is good.

That makes me extra happy I bought a Mackie mixer (based upon the positive comments made here at the VO-B. _________________ Lee Gordon, O.A.V.

It's a Droid DNA running Android version 4.2.2. I used Chrome on the phone and was able to login to my computer using the Splashtop mobile desktop a, in order to initiate the ipDTL connection.
It was not a test for clarity or even speed, as I was on wifi and didn't have an external mic hooked up. I just wanted to see if I could make it work, which it did.
The next test will come when my Mixerface arrives from Centrance, (half price til the end of the month, here) which should allow me to take this one step further and use an actual condenser mic with my phone. _________________ Joe Szymanski

Joe, I installed that for Outofhear.com so he can manage 4 Zephyrs, but no need for this if you are just remoting one. The Xstream has a built-in webserver!
I tried IPDTL with Chrome Beta browser on a Galaxy S3, and it indeed worked! The Send meter didn't move, but I setup my Mac to echo back and auto answer my connection, and I heard the echo, albeit with higher latency than in use with two desktop computers. Far out! Will try it with the USB OTG cable and my Samsung Meteor next. _________________ If it sounds good, it is good.
