people who have this mic - or just might know (george/frank) --- i found a blue baby bottle with stand & pop filter - plus an isolation filter of some type - i don't think it's an SE reflexion - but it could be a CAD - anyway - i'm on the bubble at $250 for the package --- what do you think? obviously, if it IS an SE Electronics Reflixion filter - i think $250 is a go --- but if it's a knock off ... _________________ "i know philip banks": todd ellis

Nice mic. Low self noise, mucho gain, slight bump in the upper mids for presence. Neutral bottom, but does exhibit a strong proximity effect at close range.
At that price, you can't lose.... And can always resell if you find it's not a keeper for you.
Those who sneer at goofy looking Latvian mics may now commence. _________________ Don Brookshire

What he said.
It is not a mic I would like to use for VO... but that is for me.
The Baby Bottle is/was designed as a musicians microphone, with some treatise for vocals. The lollipop makes it ideal for capturing sound which is sustainable, not sound which is staccato in nature (like VO). The transformer used in this mic is average, not what I consider ideal for Vocal or VO use.
That said, the Baby Bottle works well for some VO people and some VO voices. take a chance and see if it works for you. If you do not like it... sell it.

If you're the sort of person who allows a mic to find you it's great and fab value for money. Personally speaking I would myself personally buy a nice Neumann U87ai from those nice Neumann brothers, Alf and Colin. |

Phillip, I didn't know you knew Alf and Colin. They are the Sennheiser Brothers right?
The filter by the way is a little tight for what I would desire for my use Todd. But that does not mean it is not usable... I believe it is a knock off; not an SE.

I think the ofvthe Blue mics the Blue Mouse is better for VO. U87 is the best as PB and FF could attest. _________________ Gregory Best

I thought Alf was one of the Neumanns. His middle initial is "E," isn't it?

Alf was the one who invented the microphone which resulted in hate mail from the man who invented shouting. It was Hitler who invented shouting into a microphone which gave birth to the 10db pad. |

My brother's girlfriend is a Neumann...she didn't come with microphones so I'm still trying to decide if I like her. _________________ 006 member of the Sisterhood of the Traveling Mic. Bonded by sound.

And that wasn't strong enough so Colin invented the 1000 ohm resistor on the mics capsule, correct?

bought it for $225.
it's a "post audio" filter --- yes, a bit small & not up to the SE standards - but, personally, i don't need it. i only bought it to flip the parts and make a few bucks for a couple of boxes of .45 ACP. _________________ "i know philip banks": todd ellis

I rolled the dice on a Mouse (being from KY we usually bet on horses, or basketball games....) I gotta say, with a touch of EQ the Mouse so far seems to be a good choice for VO.
And when I say "rolled the dice", I mean that from Sweetwater the Mouse is a Special Order item and therefore, no returns...... |
