I'll be crashing on a bench in Grand Central Terminal if I miss the 1:47 AM train (which I'm hoping will happen ). _________________ Lee Gordon, O.A.V.

FWIW, I booked a room via airbnb, too. I hadn’t even heard of it, but folks at another forum I frequent recommended it . Like Connie, I can’t vouch for the experience yet, but the process was pretty straightforward, and if it all works out, $100 for a bed and a shower for a night in Midtown is tough to beat (well, I'm not counting the local YMCA). |

For those who may need a last minute hotel, and it's unfortunately not me because I couldn't make it happen financially, check out a free a called Hotels Tonight. Amanda Fellows turned me on to it and you can get a last minute, day of hotel room after 9am local time. Last time I went to NY for an overnight, scored a Hampton Inn room near Madison Square for $119 all in. Definitely worth looking in to. Have fun!

We used Priceline and managed to get a rate for three nights that even us midwestern types can stomach.
The whole time I was deciding on my bid amount, I kept hearing Shatner tell me, "Lowwwwerr!" and "Namby Pamby!"
The normal going rate for hotels there seems to be multiple hundreds of dollars per night, which would have made the total lodging bill, sans help from Priceline, damned near $1,500. Here in Indiana, we have a name for that much money: mortgage payment.

Hotel Tonight is awesome. I used it to score a room at The Hollywood Roosevelt for $200. Pam turned me onto it. |
