Yes, my real name except (like Liz) I use my nickname (Bob) for my professional name instead of the more formal Robert.

I consider shorten (nick) names of real names as real.

Also a maiden name is "real."

Using your middle name would also be "real."

Don't forget to participate in the "poll" at the top of the page.

This has turned into an interesting thread.

The results are fascinating. Wizard

Yep, Chris Rice... not to be confused with the Christian recording artist of the same name. Especially not confused by anyone who's heard me (attempt to) sing.

First post! Hello Smile

I use my real name (Kirsty Gillmore).

Most of my clients outside of the UK repeatedly call me Kristy (I've given up getting annoyed) and I suspect I'm listed with more than one agency/production house as "Kristy" or "Kirsten" which is slightly worrying.

It should also be noted that where some names may work in a single market, as "international voiceoverists" we must make sure that our name does not cause a problem elsewhere in the world.

... which reminds me of my fist job... British Telecom back in the early '70s. I worked with data lines and private circuits, and a very necessary piece of equipment was an oscillator. We used one from a well-established US equipment manufacturer. The Wayne Kerr 44C. Of course, when requesting that the piece of equipment be taken from the van... did we call for the 44C? Did we 'eckers like... "Grab the Wayne Kerr!" Loudly.... and as publicly as possible.

Little scamps that we were Wink

Oh, and Hi Kirsty... do your research and check for the llama duties and chocolate obligations. Cadbury's or Galaxy... I'm not fussy (don't listen to the others who want that inedible 90% muck).

Thanks for the welcomes Smile

Bish - Llama cleanup duties and chocolate obligations duly noted. Is watercress not a requirement anymore?
