Today I see that the film is on the list of finalists for screening this weekend at the BANG! Awards thingy. That's good news - it's a bigger festival doodad than the other one and has quite a big number of entries. Yes, I know competitions don't mean too much, but it's fun anyhow. Since I was just the hired gun, there's no real pressure!
Anyway, here's the list:

...and it's in there, in the "Open Theme" category, four or so entries down.
Stiff competition. I think my favorite is actually the "Changing Batteries" piece, which is quite brilliant and touching (but has no narration), but we men aren't supposed to talk about feelings, so I won't. As much as it pains me to go with the crowd for any purpose, I think I agree with prevailing opinion that the "Batteries" piece should win the prize. You might argue it's a formulaic pulling of the heartstrings, but that doesn't make it any less art... does it?
Point is, there are some tremendously talented animators and it's worth your time to just watch a handful of the entries.
But, anyway, this is exciting for me, because I'm essentially quite boring, nothing to see here, please disperse. _________________ Finally, Ford stops starting to say things and starts. |
