Long-time car client agency sends a script today. TV 30.
It's actually _wait for it_ :52. Read fast.
Zoiks!
Her first edit got it down to :37.
Let's see what else she can cut. Hopefully the clients little on-cam drop in that's been in every spot recently.

Didn't they use the Copywriter's Magic Wand™? That's what enables them to write a spot of any length they desire and specify, "This is a :30," and, magically, it comes out to exactly 30 seconds, I see it all the time.

I resisted the urge to say "do you actually read these against the clock?"
There's a few clients that I just expect to see overwritten copy from, but this one was exceptional in it's length.

Timing isnt usually a problem with the Dolla-per-holla stuff I do. The problem I always seem to encounter are paragraphs that make absolutely no grammatical sense whatsoever. I give the client exactly what they want, but it always leaves me scratching my head on the first run through.
