Well, that's depressing to hear about InterVoiceOver. I guess I shall have to stay on top of it. I've actually had really good luck with VO clients, unlike my life as a freelance writer. Even if the magazine does pay on time it could be Pay On Publication, or worse, POP30, POP60. Which could mean you're waiting for payment on work you did a year ago. Ridiculous.
On another note, I really like Paul Strikwerda's idea of offering a discount for early payment. |

On the other hand, the magazines I've written for paid per page, including pictures, even if I didn't take or supply them. So a four page article that was published with two pages worth of pictures was paid as if I had written six pages.
And on some of the electronic games I've done, there was a fee that was to be paid if and when the game went into production. Fortunately, there was also a session fee, so the job was not entirely speculative, but the real money was that "into production" fee. _________________ Lee Gordon, O.A.V.

Oh really? Wow. I've never come across that. It's always been per word for me, and you better be supplying pictures. I don't care if you're not a photographer, you are now! I guess freelance writers are a dime a dozen in the travel industry. |

Maybe the practices differ between woodworking and travel publications. _________________ Lee Gordon, O.A.V.
