I agree with Mr Bergen for the most part, but need to point out that it's a long road to brilliance, paved with a lot of hard work. To expect brilliance at the outset is unrealistic, and is a result that comes after many years, and as LG said, may not even be recognizable in the real world

I think the key is to work at it EVERY DAY. This requires a passion for this type of work. You either have it or you don't..I would also suggest to go beyond the improv and acting classes and actually do some REAL performing in front of live audiences. It's easy to get stuck in the class routine and used to the safe non threatening environment it offers. Performing for paying customers and critics is another universe altogether, and a tremendous confidence and chops builder for VO.

I would add to this, and to my own comment in which I said, "you may not be cut out for this," a great big "YET."

The value of having experience is not merely that you've done stuff previously, it's that you've learned from the stuff you've done. That includes not only the voice acting part, but the business and technical parts, as well. So the way to gain experience is to keep at it. You are allowed to make mistakes, as long as they are not fatal ones, and as long as you learn from them.
