I've been a Bodalgo subscriber for almost 4 yrs now, and I have to say its been pretty decent.. a steady stream of work.. repeat clients..etc..

Lately, meaning 6 months or so, it's completely dried up.. the audtions and gigs seem fewer and further between.. So, see ya later..

I'm surely addressing my competition here, but anyone with similiar experience?

I was just considering trying them out. It really seems like the P2P market is pretty saturated. I talked with V123 specifically about this and they agreed that there are a TON more people on P2P sites auditioning now. It has become UBER competitive (but not necessarily in a "who is the best of the job" kind of way), lower paying, and requires faster attention to even get heard....which is why I'm concentrating on other avenues.

I never had any luck on Bodalgo. I tried it for about 4-6 months.

I've never gotten very many jobs from Bodalgo but always enough to more than cover the cost of the service. And I've found that for the majority of their leads a generic demo will suffice, so it doesn't really take up much time.

I ponied up for the full pay subscription last month when I noticed an audition in my wheelhouse and with only a couple of other takers at that point. Alas, that number went up pretty high (though not NEARLY as fast as it does on voices or V123) and in the end I and about 80 others didn't get the gig. I took a stab at a few more auditions over the month but decided to cancel before the auto-renew kicked in. The auditions were just too few and far between. It's a shame because bodalgo seems the sanest and most low-key of any P2P site I've seen. I hope for their sake that they're at least making a better go of things in German and the other languages they cater to.

The auditions that don't require a sample read fill up almost immediately. Since those auditions come from a European clientele for the most part, they are posted 7-8 hrs ahead of my time, which means by 7 or 8 am, there are 40-50 submissions

The issue really is lately the amount of actual auditions. Frequently gone 3 or 4 days without a single audition

It's the European time that hooked me for that audition I mentioned! I was up in the middle of the night and in front of the mic anyway when I got the email notification - from someone that I assume was just starting their day. So I took the plunge. But since I am the living exemplar of Murphy's Law, I had about 4 days of no calls for auditions right after I anteed up.

This is exceptionally odd!

Not so long ago I posted in entre nous complaining about V123 ...and I landed a gig through them that very day. ( http://www.vo-bb.com/phpBB2/viewtopic.php?t=17341 ) More recently, in this thread I posted about Bodalgo's shortcomings and what do I see in my inbox this morning but a job offer based on an audition I did there before cancelling my subscription! Now I know rationally that there is no cause and effect relationship going on here, but just in case, I'd like to take this opportunity to gripe about every P2P site I have registered for, every agent I have ever contacted, and every client I have ever had. Y'all stink. Or something.

And now all I have to do is wait for the calls to start rolling in.

Maybe it's the growing "I've got to quit this outfit!" fire in your belly that is making your auditions that much better, resulting in more success. Maybe you should keep the P2P but always be planning to quit.

My Bodalgo subscription has been suspended for about two years. I have considered a few of the audition invites but didn't really feel they were worth signing up for. Then two nights ago, one came in that seemed interesting enough. Signed up for one month, did the audition, landed the gig.

If anything else comes in during the next 30 days I will check it out, otherwise I'm just gonna suspend it again. Works for me.
