Very familiar, indeed. I'm not sure if this is quite the same thing as "the power of suggestion," but it does show that a lot of folks don't question those in an authority (or authority-like) positions.
A completely unrelated, yet similar, example: how many load their toothbrushes with toothpaste as is shown in the TV spots? Toothpaste makers know that people will follow example, and they sell a lot of toothpaste... because many people DO load their toothbrushes as is demonstrated. But, according to the ADA, we need only enough toothpaste to create a foam and nothing more. And, at about $4 (or more) a tube... nothing more need be said.  _________________ Mike
