So I was looking pretty heavily into such a voice's accelerator coaching and demo program. I'm fairly new to voice over and was thinking this could be a great place to start. I was hoping I could get a couple opinions on it and see if the price sounded reasonable. I'm adding a link in the bottom of the post to the program description and pricing. Please let me know what you think. Thank you for your time.

Jason,
I'm a Nancy Wolfson guy. She will probably be a little more expensive, and I don't know how long Such a Voice says it will be before you are demo ready, but with Nancy she won't book your demo session until she's sure you are ready. Read up on her and some of the other coaches. Above all, be careful. This is an unregulated field so it's buyer beware when it comes to purchasing these kinds of services. |

Hmmm, the last success story (they call them "highlights") they've got posted on their site is from January of 2013.
That may just mean that they could stand to update their site.

I get folks who come from Such a Voice who are completely bewildered about how to use their recording studio and need me to train them or change out software/hardware completely. It seems they try to cram too much info into a short time and send folks out the door woefully unprepared. Good info, George.....are you able to comment on their acting/performance skills? In my estimation that is at least 80% of what you're paying for when you hire a voiceover coach/training entity. |

On an internet it is claimed that the depths of evil emanating from the above named organisation are legendary. Former graduates have seen family members move to Nepal in the middle of the night to avoid being with them and some have parents who pretend to be Polish so conversation is impossible. Fees paid to them for VO education are a bit like having a Harvard MBA in the vain hope that you will be valued as a human being. The only thing worse than this organisation can at least be lanced, drained and surgically dressed.
Reputable coaches offer discount packages to undo the work done by the coaches associated with the above named, applicants simply enter the code "TRAINWRECK".
I merely share the information available on an internet. My personal views which are held personally as personal views personal to me are either private and confidential or confident and providential.
Full Disclosure - I have had sex with one of the coaches. She talked through most of it, especially the best bit. I suppose talked should really be "Skyped". The student appeared to be unconcerned.

Any business arrangement should have clearly defines objectives on both sides. For anyone offering services like this, their side of the equation is wodges of cash. Your side of the equation is an enhanced skill-set and maybe a demo that will open doors or otherwise enhance you ability to make money (i.e. recoup more than the aforementioned wodge you have just been separated from).
Just to be clear, this is not specific to any one purveyor of VO coaching or demo production. Investigate (as you have started to do here)... look at the list of alumni or authors of the on-site testimonials... if anyone is making anything from VO, you will find them on the interwebs. Are any of their graduates actually making a living? A lot of this is interpretation because most VOs tend exaggerate a little when it comes to how well they're doing. Read between the lines.
Finally I would like to thank Philip for planting such an image in my head that I may have to lie down for a while to get over it.
