VO-BB - 20 YEARS OLD!

I have to send my Telos Zephyr Classic in for repair, and was extremely lucky that a Chief Engineer I used to work with back in my radio days had a spare Zephyr on the shelf and loaned it to me at no charge.

He's a great guy and was terrific to work with (very smart and funny), but he and I are not really anything more than acquaintances, so I know nothing about him. I offered to take him to lunch when I return his codec, but he politely declined due to Chief Engineer workload.

Anyone have any suggestions as to how to show my appreciation for his kindness and super-speedy response to my call for help (I asked him only yesterday and his Zephyr is already in my rack and working).

IMO, gifts are for the holidays at the end of the year. Sincere emails saying what you said to begin this post will be well received. Everyone likes to know that they made a difference. Telling them so, and how much difference they made will make his day as much as anything.

If you really need to get him something, everyone drinks coffee and there are Starbucks next to Starbucks, so send him a card stating the same with a Starbucks gift card, saying, 'I couldn't take you to lunch because you're so busy with your workload, but everyone needs a break, so the next one's on me'. Either one of those will be appreciated as most people don't take time to do anything to acknowledge niceties.
