Been there, I just sent a client to collections for the first time. They only charge if they collect, and I don't expect them to but it did make me feel better that the client was at least being harassed. I also had the videos pulled off of YouTube for copyright infringement. If it's broadcast you can threaten to send a cease and desist to everyone mentioned in the spot, the broadcast outlets that are airing it and the client.
In my experience though if you have to do any of the above you aren't getting paid without going to court which is rarely worth the effort.
