Possible to buy the software without signing up to pay the monthly subscription service into perpetuity? |

Yep. You can buy, used, AA 1.5. Put it on as many computers as you want, and use it as long as you like. It'll do everything you need.
Make sure you get the registration code with your purchase. You'll need it to get started, but its not online registration. _________________ www.asapaudio.com |

Debbie... you didn't specify Mac or PC. There are quite a few ways to get older versions (stand-alone) of Adobe Audition (or Creative Suite) for the PC... not so much for the Mac.
I bit the bullet and subscribed to CS6 as I have a number of things I want to use Premier for (and I use Photoshop/Lightroom/Bridge etc.) _________________ Bish a.k.a. Bish

This just in!!! You can now get PC OR MAC versions of CS6 from Adobe!
Here is how to find it:
Go to adobe's site, click on the search bar and type in audition. This will pop up both CC and CS6. Click on BUY (under CS6). Then when you get to the next screen (a list of products) click on Buy under the price of Audition. This will give you the option to buy either Mac or PC versions of CS6.
Price $349 for either Mac or PC!!! |

Can anyone help with this problem ?
Finally there is a version of AA that I might be able to use, at a reasonable price for mac. It is the one that Jason mentioned earlier in the post, the CS6 version for the mac.
There are 2 problems that need to be overcome before I can purchase it.
1. Need to know if it will work on my system. Sounds like an easy one to solve, non ?
Well, here is the problem. Adobe's page states this:
"Mac OS X v10.6.8 or v10.7. Adobe Creative Suite 5, CS5.5, and CS6 applications support Mac OS X Mountain Lion ( v10.8 ) when installed on Intel-based systems.**"
OK, well my mac mini runs OS 10.9.5, which is of course not mentioned.
We have another mac that has an older version 10.5.8 on it. Perhaps we can update that system if we can find the Apple id
And Adobe states that you need: "DVD-ROM drive for installation from DVD media", which my mac mini does not have, but the older mac has.
2. Life would be so simple if Adobe would let someone with questions, like me, to write an email to them and ask the questions. But NO, they make it almost impossible to contact them; that is unless you are on Twitter.
My wife and I do not do social media and I have no intention to sign up for Twitter so I can ask a couple of questions.
Would anyone kind reader out there, who Twits, or Tweets, or whatever it is called, be so kind as to contact Adobe to ask my questions for me ?
Here is the contact info: follow@AdobeCare
Thanks in advance for anyone who is willing to help _________________ www.scottsvoiceover.com - An American voice in Finland

Hmm. I have purchased both CS5.5 and CS6 upgrade (both Audition Standalone Versions) as a direct digital download and activation from their website. Hope that hasn't changed.

You can only get the download now, so no DVD available from Adobe. I run CS6 on 10.9 and it works just fine. It's my daily driver.
Adobe does have a live chat support system that is much quicker than email. I have done screen shares with them about issues. No twitter involved. |

Thanks guys for the information.
Think I will move ahead with it. Been a long time since I used it last time but I still remember it was a great program. _________________ www.scottsvoiceover.com - An American voice in Finland
