Izotope RX4
Gang— this set of utilities has totally changed the way I work and had hugely improved my attitude about narration.
$100 off until tomorrow. sorry to bring it to your attention so late in the sale, but I only found out about it a few days ago and wanted to put it to work before recommending it.
Recommendation: Get it.
Rating: Just wow. _________________ DBCooperVO.com

I have been using RX since version 1 and VERY HIGHLY recommend this software for anyone who does long form narration. Even if you don't get the discount. _________________ Be well,

I've been working with the trial version just to see what kind of a difference it would make with my files and I'm completely sold.
Too bad I had to buy two cars and insure a teenager this spring. It's a great deal for the power you get. _________________ Greg Littlefield

Thanks for the heads up.
Just curious, as someone who is not yet doing long form, what are the features that you find most helpful?
Thanks |

Kim,
If you're happy using RX2, there's probably not a big reason to move up to 4.
And yarg28, the single more beneficial feature is the ability to clean up mouth noises that escape all other efforts to remove. There are a host of other features. If you have an iLok, the trial is free. You just can't save your files, but you can try out every feature. _________________ Be well,

Thank you for the reply, Bob.
That sounds like a great feature. |

+1 for removing mouth noises. For me, it's been like basically using the eraser in Photoshop. And after a few times, you know right where to find them, too. _________________ Greg Littlefield

Is it like, Press the Magic Mouth Noise Eraser Button, and they're gone...? Or do you have to erase each one individually as you find it? _________________ Always look on the bright side of life.

I don't know if there's a way to seek-and-destroy them all at once since I only had 10 days to explore it. I just went after them one at a time. _________________ Greg Littlefield

I set the declicker to remove "random clicks" and the sensitivity to about 4 - process the whole file at once. That's worked fairly well for me. Once in a while I've had to dial it back a bit. |

I just gave the declicker a try on a particularly mouth noisy bit of e-learning dialog that I recorded in a hotel room last week. Seemed to work like a champ. This would have saved me a bunch of work cleaning the file up manually. So, based on the recommendations in this thread and my brief trial, I jumped on the deal. Thanks for posting, Deirdre! _________________ Bob Ransom

I use Decrackler on everything! Sometimes I need to go back through with Declicker as well, but mostly Decrackler at around 3.5 on the entire file and I'm all set. Love it! _________________ Back into the murky lurk from whence I came

Yeah— Decrackler is the bomb. That's the thing I've using the most in these first few heady days. _________________ DBCooperVO.com

Okay - going to try decrackler today at 3.5. Only used declicker random clicks so far. |
