Bruce and I went to join the VO-BB clubhouse on the same day. Unfortunately the "no shoes no shirt no admittance" policy was in effect, and Bruce was sent home with a 2 day penalty card. DB was a tough cookie back then. I was wearing sandals at the time, but she let me in after I gave her my box of Milk Duds. _________________ "Bailey"

I'm pretty good about things when candy is the bribe.
I'm also pretty sure that first VOICE conference (was it 2007?) was brought to bear because of the VO-BB. _________________ DBCooperVO.com

True DB. I introduced Frank (I met Frank here) to Jim & Penny. They were each planning their own events and decided to do one bigger event together. Yes, this place played a role. _________________ Gregory Best

If I remember correctly I'm the one who made a lot of noise back then about our needing a conference of professional voiceoverists without all the material geared for beginners and the folks selling their consultancy services. The lovely Amy Snively, backed by her wonderful assistants, turned it into a real event and made it all work.

Dag nabit I've missed them all. Hope my timing is better in the future so I can one day make one. I've had nothing to do with Voice since the first one. _________________ Gregory Best

Here's another: My career.
And another: My best friend.
Really.
I would NOT have the life I have now in terms of building my VO biz without this awesome place.
Without this place, I would not have Moe in my life..and oh how I love having her in my life!!!!
Those of you who have been here since I joined in 2006 have seen me through my caregiving journey and my current challenges.
Without this place I would not have the awesome support system and band of brothers & sisters who make me laugh every day.
Thanks you DEEBZ!!!!!! _________________ Liz de Nesnera O.A.V. ~ Livin' The VO Dream!

It is 9 years tomorrow for me, and (as Liz just said so very well) this has been a haven and home for me ever since. I am profoundly grateful for all that you have each done individually and severally that have added much of value to my life. _________________ Be well,

What? I've been a member longer than Bob? How can that be?
Perhaps my 3-4 year dry spell in the middle puts him waaay ahead of me now. _________________ Greg Littlefield

Some often view longevity as a quality to be desired... but when partnered with a high post count, that is where the wheels can fall off the cart. I have learned to never equate a high post count with brilliance, or a low post count with the inability to formulate a sentence. Sometimes the least said can affect the most, and the most said can confuse ad infinitum.
One redeeming quality of longevity that I have noticed here, is the inexhaustible amount of voice related subject matter that has accumulated over the years. And all of it, completely free. That is why newcomers are always encouraged to glean through the archives. _________________ "Bailey"

That's certainly true in my case. _________________ Lee Gordon, O.A.V.
