|
|
We have a couple of upcoming projects where a textured, sexy and deep (baritone) male voice will be doing some up-close and intimate, seductive product narration.
In those scenarios, what mics come to mind for:
a) studio-only use;
b) portable/road warrior applications.
(If you have a particular preamp that you think enhances a specific mic's suitability for the above needs, whether for studio or travel/road-warrior use, please add that info.)
Thanks! |

Thanks, Todd; good information. Do you have an opinion of how sturdily it stands up to travel, rough handling etc...and how it performs in imperfect room conditions (hotel, etc.)?
ballenberg, it's for an all-inclusive Caribbean resort promoting their honeymoon packages...although, given media trends and the sexual desensitizing of the audience, it could be anything from a big freaking truck to back-to-school supplies. |

Seriously, any good VO mic will do the job..but especially for the road work, a quiet non-reverberant space is essentially. Intimate baritone reads can bounce off a live wall and grt pretty muddy. |

The Senn 416 has gotten me by on many seductive reads (of course the subject matter has usually been cars) and it's also the mic you see them waving around on location. Pretty sturdy! _________________ Never do anything you wouldn't want to explain to the Paramedics
