Beautiful stuff.

Question though, does Dieter sneek up behind you and paint your picture often? Smile

(Lamp light is you..right?)

Yes, Lamplight is indeed me.

It's hard to be sneaky as a watercolor artist-- there's just too much gear involved. Imagine a late 19th-century photographer trying to capture candid pix without anyone knowing. Running down the street , black cloth billowing.

And I like to get out of my studio, so I take to laptop to the dining room whenever I'm not working on a voice thing.

I'm glad you like the paintings!

These are excellent! Sigh. My watercolor class of this past autumn was fabulous, though I have little to show for it except the knowledge that watercolor painting is very, very difficult to do well! Dieter has my admiration!

Oh my. A film just started in my mind about paparazzi in the 1800's. Hordes of photographers with the tripods, all draped in black cloth and chasing clumsily after a period celebrity. Some running into lamp posts, some falling into manholes...

Great watercolor works, Dieter!

I have a BFA. I focused on figurative art. I also did quite a bit of watercolor. Excellent work!

My wife wants to get back into watercolor now. Here's an odd request, DB. There was a day when you could go to any store and find the gummed paper tape we used to stretch the watercolor paper. Not so these days. Could you find out from you hubby where that stuff can be found?

Thanks.

We had to start buying it by the case.

Here are a couple of places that sell it online:

http://www.papermart.com/templates/31-0-10.htm

http://www.uline.com/Browse_Listing_3062.asp?desc=Kraft+Non+Reinforced+Paper+Tape

Look up "Gummed Paper Tape" in Google.
