Thank you, Philip. That video fit into my day in multiple ways.

It is a reminder that when work becomes a drudgery, we need to fix that! Not only did they say they enjoy what they do, but their body language and facial expression telegraphed that thought even before they said it.

And a tip of the hat for sounds in the higher registers. Dating back to the era when A.M. radio was the technical darling and entertainment darling of society, we have been taught that only a voice with BASSO PROFUNDO or something like that is a worthy valuable voice. This video demonstrates that it is possible to do voice with something that has some hints, even some strong elements of a tenor range fits into our universe. (I'm not a tenor, but if I don't reach up just a bit, I feel like I am wallowing is BASS MUDDINESS some days. No, a bass voice still rules the world, BUT if a voice cannot be GOLDEN in that range, maybe try moving a little out of that range. Audio copies of last night's experiments available on request!!!)

And then at 1:48 into the video, the first time through... I am shouting at the screen. NO. NO. NO. You can't do that! NOTHING goes that close to the back side of a microphone. Not even porous acoustic foam. The cockroaches of proximity effect will eat your lunch. But wait a minute. It's working for a very successful voice person working on behalf of a company that seems to know as much about sound as anyone in the universe. Maybe that tenor-tendency-voice needs just a whiff of proximity effect. Guess what I will experiment with later today!

Again, thank you Philip. The video fit my day very well.

Ok...now I just want to pack up and head to Disney (land or world...don't care Laugh )! They seem like genuinely warm and lovely people and you can really see how much they love what they do.
