I know there are many options out there as far as software to track marketing efforts as well as business financials. What do you use? Or, have you set up your own system?

If I may, I would like to ask a follow up question if it doesn't run afoul of the constabulary. What is the advantage of Freshbooks over Quickbooks?

Karl,
Quickbooks is full fledged accounting software. Freshbooks has fewer features, but allows me to send and keep track of invoices, keep a complete address book of all current and previous clients, track expenses, generate a variety of reports each month. In short everything I need without all of the stuff I don't. It's the best $300 I spend each year.

The best part of Freshbooks: it lets my customers pay via Business PayPal for a flat 50 cent fee as long as they don't use a credit card. Pays for itself in those savings every month.
