My present car will be taken away at some point in June and a replacement vehicle is being knitted by senior members of the Hull WI.

Specs of new Collie Wagon include Technology Pack Inc MM Navigation Plus with MMi Touch / 7" Colour Display / Virtual Cockpit 12.3" Full Colour Digital Instrument Screen/ Head-Up Display.

This is a car NOT an RAF Typhoon!

What ever happened to, Picnic Basket from the House of Bannerman and Woosted, pop up trafficators, vanity mirror and pipe smokers kit?

Kafer got a pen. I saw it. I once got brownies but they were to share with hubby since he worked on the project, too.

The thrill of opening a box of Brownies with a Head Up Display must have been quite something!

"Look Mandy, I'm eating a Brownie whilst making a right turn WITH a full tank of fuel and missile lock!"

I bought a new car recently. Someone borrowed it, and I asked, "Did you enjoy driving it?" The reply was slow in coming... "I'm not sure. I think it actually drove itself."

Philip, I thought the Hull WI was broken up and the committee gaoled after a raid by the North Yorkshire Constabulary... something about turf battles with the York branch and GBH charges arising from non-traditional use of knitting needles.

That was Keighley! The Hull thing was the so-called "Victoria Sponge Wars". The butter cream filling was actually made using Flora and the jam was not home made but Mace own brand Strawberry! Mr Singh, the shop owner was made to swear before the committee. After the committee he returned to his usual civil tongued Peshwari self. My Father was alive at the time and he still spun in his grave.
