Mel Blanc was certainly an amazing talent. That was a great find. Thanks!

This interview, with its "English Horse" was part of the humor riffs in my house as I grew up. My parents would quote from it.

Mel Blanc is (not was) so astonishing.
He's not a "was" long as we've got the cartoons!!

What an incredible talent. I have been a great fan of the Warner Bros. cartoons for close to 50 years now. They still crack me up.

Never heard the "English horse" before. What a hoot. I laughed so hard my wife came in to see what was wrong.

Jeremy, my 4.5 year old, watches "Jimmy Neutron" and others on Nickelodeon incessantly. One weekend, I was scrolling through the Pay per view movies and the latest release of Bugs Bunny/Road Runner came up. On a whim, I got it, and he wouldn't budge an inch from the livingroom. Then, we got a couple of episodes of the Flintstones, and he loved that, also. Now he asks for the "bird with the funny horn" and the Flintstones on an almost daily basis. The apple doesn't fall too far from the tree Rolls Eyes

Have a good day, all.

Can you believe it? I actually got hired to deliver two words as Daffy Duck ("You're despicable" of course), obviously meaning it must be cheaper to use me than an actual Mel Blanc track.

I don't really do animation voices, so I had to study that one for a while. If you slow Mel down about 40%, he starts to sound human. I did Daffy at that frequency, then sped my voice/pitch up. Couldn't begin to touch the spitting part while I was speaking, so had to do that separately and mix it in. What Mel could mouth in two seconds was a fifteen minute multi-track production for me.

Hey, I didn't say I could actually do it. But I was able to use the computer to create it, so I don't feel so bad taking the money.

But it gave me a whole new appreciation of Mel.
