Heh.
It might be a drag to do so, but maybe you need to either fully separate your audiobook and commercial gigs into separate websites OR
fully embrace it and make it one brand across platforms (trying to sound like a marketing geek here...) _________________ Skype: globalvoiceover

Ditto. Too many people ridiculously draw conclusions based only on appearances. Even when comparing apples (looks) to oranges (sound). Imagine the reverse: a modeling agency wanting to hear what we sound like before hiring for a photo shoot. _________________ Mike

I have two websites, www.monksvoice.com as well as www.americannarrator.com and I take both approaches. There are some on-camera images of me on monksvoice site, and there's a picture of me in rotation on the narrator site.
I feel it gives a human connection. It's advice I got from Philip. (who has his picture front and center on his site.) _________________ Company, villainous company, hath been the spoil of me...

There is no doubt, no question that a photo adds far more value to a voice over website than it is ever likely to subtract.
The above is NOT an opinion. |

Really? So I should include this selfie on my site then? It'll add value and business?

Wow, Scott. That thin Colorado air does NOT appear to agree with you.

Yes. Have metrics, supporting marketing info, psychological data and other evidence.
The above information I have no intention of "giving" away. Free of charge anyone is at liberty to believe I'm completely wrong |

Hm.
I've had a few people (one in the entertainment industry) really get a kick out of this one. Not sure I'll throw it up on my website...
And yes, I did really buy myself a real metal crown. Why? Because I rule my life. _________________ "The wise ones fashioned speech with their thought, sifting it as grain is sifted through a sieve." - Buddha

8 shillings well spent!
In my case a photo works because people see me looking at them and conclude

In over 35 years of working as a professional VO talent, and since the internet offered website for such, no one has ever asked for a photo. They're not hiring me for my looks.

Yes, you should always have your headshot on your VO website.
Unless you shouldn't.
(Like some previous answers, this one, too, is unequivocal.) _________________ Doug Turkel (tur-KELL)

So, we should always have Philip's headshot on our websites...?
Just want to make sure I've understood this correctly.
