|

Hi Everyone!
I'm trying to decide on which mic sounds best with my voice, for what style of read, whether I should sell any of them, the usual song and dance, and I'd love your feedback! There are 6 reads:
1. 416 (hang ten distance)
2. 416 close (closed fist distance)
3. Nt1
4. Nt1 Close
5. Blue Mouse
6. Blue Mouse Close
Interface is the Audient ID4

I'd also love feedback from folks who've used the Blue Mouse. It sounds pleasant to me, but I definitely haven't found the sweet spot. Viusally, the wave form seems more prone to plosives, but I can't actually hear it. If you're interested, here's the same read with two more positions (capsule up towards ceiling, and down towards my chest.)

I liked the 416...to me, a little better at the "fist" distance, at least for the copy you were using. |

+1 to what Alan wrote.
No.2 stood out to me on the iPad. Might be different on good monitor speakers. (Even with good monitors no.2 is my choice)
Not to confuse you any more than you are at the moment, Bock Audio brought out the 195 again
In any case they all sounded pretty good to me! _________________ www.scottsvoiceover.com - An American voice in Finland

Thank you, gentlemen!
I saw that, Scott! Yet another mic to try.
At least they're all usable! _________________ "There's Magic all around us; you just have to see it. And the most wonderful Magic of all, is just bein' alive." -Uncle Montork, He-Man and the Masters of the Universe |

All sound great. The 416 was the best. The Rode was a little bass-heavy. I'm finding I need to be at least 8-12 inches away when working mine. _________________ Skype: globalvoiceover

Yes, 416 especially in the closer position. _________________ Jack Daniel

Thank you, Jackson! I learned that technique from Scott Burns during our Seattle workout group. It's really great for those Intimate internal monologues.
Thanks again everyone who offered their thoughts. I can't tell you how much I appreciate it! _________________ "There's Magic all around us; you just have to see it. And the most wonderful Magic of all, is just bein' alive." -Uncle Montork, He-Man and the Masters of the Universe |
