|
|
I’m sure the topic has been broached time and time again, but the field is ever changing, so I’ll ask again.
I’m looking to revamp my website. I want someone who’s good with art and knows what is demanded in a VO website. I don’t want to do it myself as the ‘one size fits all’ templates are not what I’m after. I know the basics of what I want, I just need the talent to get it there. Kind of like a client who knows what they want and needs the production team and VO person to get it there.
Suggestions of people you’ve worked with who can deliver? _________________ Never do anything you wouldn't want to explain to the Paramedics

Gotta say though, the Village Green Studios people have kept going with their very busy webpages, while many others have moved towards a less cluttered feel to their presentations.
To each his own! |

Take a look at http://www.voiceactorwebsites.com
Joe Davis owns the company and he really understands the requirements of the VO business. He's become part of the community and constantly listens to what people want... and he's a really nice guy as well. _________________ Bish a.k.a. Bish

I've heard of Village Green and had checked them out before. Honestly, they were a bit snooty when I'd dealt with them in the past, like maybe I had asked the wrong question to artists of their caliber. Regardless, how can you pass up looking into a website for a VO guy that was created for VO guys (and gals). So I did Bish! I'll keep you posted.
Meanwhile, thanks for your suggestions and if there's any others, please pass them along. For me and others that may be interested. _________________ Never do anything you wouldn't want to explain to the Paramedics

Kinda agree!! Their style has become a bit obsolete. But when they were in style they rocked!! |

My last post didn't post... Not sure what happened.
Anyhoo...
Bish, I looked and like what I see. Can you give me a super-rough notion of where they are in the pricing spectrum?

Joe is pretty much in line with other website designers. Start around $600... and then upwards to wherever you want. A lot of it depends on whether you want something customized from a template, single or multi-pages... or something built from the ground up because of unique needs. Drop him a line... he'll be straight with you. _________________ Bish a.k.a. Bish

Talked to Joe. Mentioned your name Bish, and the price instantly went up!
Kidding aside, I'll be working with them for my next website. Going to get my new demos done first and then let them design a place to put them.
New coaching $$, new demos $$, new website $$. Who says the kids have to eat!
Thanks again for the recommendation! _________________ Never do anything you wouldn't want to explain to the Paramedics

I was going to recommend Joe. I had a website the branding of which I loved but it was impossible for me to update - it was all graphics, even what I specified to be text. I could do nothing with it. Not even change a phone number. I spoke to at least 4 or 5 people who said they would port it to a word press site but everything would have to shrink by 10%. Then I found Joe. Through Peter actually. He took one look and said. Sure. They'll have to shrink it by 10% in order to fit it into a standard word press template. I don't do that. I make my own templates. It took him a little over a week at less than the cost of everyone else who would have taken months.
The best thing about this is I found a new friend - now one of my best. But that's not why I'm recommending him. His website skills are awesome. And he gets us. _________________ www.melissaeXelberth.com

I'm glad I brought this up. Times change and so do the players who keep up with them. This is good to know.
