Every once in a while a commercial (and its voiceover) impress me enough to share. Here's one I found today for Sheraton Hotels:

The read was too affected for my taste but I would guess that was a case of over directing. Another "we couldn't afford Morgan Freeman so the poor guy we COULD afford is going to get beaten up". |

Agreed. Been there (at least in the neighborhood).
Here's one of my faves, although it's not so much for the VO, but for the concept and execution: Ma Fergusen's Restaurant (Austin TX). _________________ Mike

Well, I didn't hear "Morgan Freeman" at all (no Southern or African American accents). I heard something in the telling of legends mode, slightly overdone on purpose to accent the silliness of the man's heroic actions and the humor of the last scene. To each their own I guess.

The twist at the end had me laughing! And yeah, I'd agree that the v-o might have been overdirected to counter the silly moment at the end.

What I meant by having "been there (at least in the neighborhood)" was that, in my experiences, if they weren't looking for a Morgan Freeman sound, they were looking for another celeb-type sound and putting me through the mill hoping to get it. _________________ Mike
