It does not happen often, but I had nothing to do on Sunday so I did just that, sat around watching the Rocky saga while figuring out those nasty western puzzles I've had for the last two years - three horse shoes are tough!! My day did not involve cooking because it was only me, my wife, the consumate realtor, was at another open house.
When she called saying she was coming home, I tolder her I would order a pizza, something I have not eaten in quite some time, so I set out to order a gourmet Thin Crust Deluxe pie. I waited about 2 solid minutes listening to the sales info, then ordered, "Thin crust deluxe with jalopena peppers, don't put olives on the whole pie, only half." I hopped back on the couch and started watching the clock. My wife got home and the pizza arrived 20 minutes later. We didn't check it because we were just hungry.
Opened the box, olives everywhere with "deluxe" topping on half. I called up the 800 number, told them what happened, they assured me my order would be resent and corrected. That's when this monstrosity arrived, AND the driver actually expected a tip.
Am I the only one thinking this is messed up? I guess when you veg for the entire day, you realize that more often than not, "Just plain bad" is becoming a fact of life. _________________ Genus |

Kevin, I'm sorry you had this experience, but glad you posted -- I have to confess that when I saw the pictures I burst out laughing. I'm not sure that was the response you were looking for.... hope you got a backup pizza joint in town. |

You're not the only one, my brother accidentally hung up the phone while he was laughing.
I guess $50,000 buys a circular pizza.... An engineer took a look at it and told me my problem was I didn't drive a BMW, that he could tell it was BMW style delivery and the solution was to get in a BMW, flip the pizza around and stomp on the gas - the G forces of the vehicle's acceleration would make the pizza return to normal. He also offerred to provide an example in "his BMW" if I paid for lunch today.
It's a hard knocks life.... _________________ Genus |

Unlike most youth these days, this one called and apologized. Shocked the hell out of me. Offered to show up with pizzas and everything. He also asked if I would consider taking the page down so he would not lose his job, which I agreed. If you still want to see his real Manley Slam!! click here.
The guy earned my respect, hands down. _________________ Genus |

Did you explain to the kid about BMWs?
By what process did you make him aware of your graphic representations of his treatment of your pizzas?
I'm making notes on all of this for my book, How to Get What You Want While Still Being A Super-Nice Person.
(hoping some of it will rub off on me. And I don't mean pizza sauce) |

I noticed that one or two pieces of what appear to be onion seem to have arrived relatively intact - so it wasn't a total loss, eh?
Gee, didja check with the owner and see if he needed any voice work? You could include a competitor's phone number in their ad. Since they have so little regard for quality, they wouldn't really mind would they? |

Well ... turns out Vocelli has a real ordering system. You call an 800 number, they take your order and it gets directed to the franchise shop whose area you are in. The pizza in the picture should have been a thin crust on the second run, the first pizza was a thin crust, but totally messed up. The driver, obviously added his touches.
I called the 800 number and got a lot of mess from the supervisor whom I was speaking with, I asked if she had a computer to look at a website, she said and after she said, "Yes" I gave her the URL, I told her it was a training aid I put together for them. She promptly gave me the store number and manager's name.
The manager saw the page and blew a gasket.
It's all water under the bridge now.... _________________ Genus |

To put an end to the story, the owner delivered $120 worth of pizza today. Unfortunately, they were all the same kind of pizza, Deluxe with and without meat. I don't care to see another pizza pie for a month. _________________ Genus |

Yeah. Unfortunately Paras Pizza burned down up in Sanford. I loved that, but my folks said he reopened this weekend at a new location. Gotta love a place where you call up and all the owner says, "Paras, whatchoo want? OK bye."
D, you ever been to Ken's West End in Portsmouth? |
