Loving this advice, but am left unsettled that the people who most need it will not understand that they still need to figure out where they fit and hear when they are hitting that "mark" that closes the deal.

Whatever that mark is! There are a lot of opportunities for people to make a buck or two even if they never will be able to compete and land the mortgage paying projects.

Too many people enter into this business with no listening skills to figure out where they might fit in order to start banging away at the right auditions - the right potential clients - with the "right" kinds of reads.

Absolutely! Sadly, most people who presume to teach are content with selling invalueless knowledge supported by received ignorance. People need to be equipped with applicable knowledge. It really is tough to find.

By focussing on "the pay day", not in a cynical but practical way, potential VO people and those who have been around for a while will protect themselves from the nonsense.

I tell my students "To stand a chance of successiating in voiceoverisms y'all got be gooder than what I is or at least as similar"
