Terms: 1 year buyout.
All media, 1 year, with exclusivity
$2000 per spot.
KIDS. THEY ARE MISSING A ZERO.
Don't do this stuff especially for the HUGE companies that are diving to the bottom. _________________ DBCooperVO.com

And the script pimps keep shotgunning this garbage out to all their little people. Makes me want to throw up. _________________ DBCooperVO.com

kinda hard to believe that a "major" brewery would not be auditioning through the major talent agencies and paying talent on a union contract since major breweries work with major ad agencies and about 100% of that work is on union contract.
but if that offer is actual then it is indeed ridiculous. |

They're going the Wal-Mart approach. Why pay more when you don't need to?

"Session $200 (includes 10% agency fee) per script. Will record three scripts per session over six sessions. Usage $1,000 (includes 10% agency fee)."
Okay, maybe I'm sheltered. Should I be gravely insulted by this, or just hope I get picked? _________________ Art Howard.com |

The big ad agencies are not only NOT required to use union talent they are actively uninterested in union talent.
They restricted their searches to the Triple-A talent agencies when they gave a damn what their shite sounded like. _________________ DBCooperVO.com

The big agencies in the USA that I am aware of are all signatories and have been for decades. Being a sig covers them for the accounts that require A list talent, celebs, lots of extras, jobs that require casting directors, etc. And, yes though they are not required to use union talent, never have been, and often do hire non union talent, they are required to pay all talent, including non union talent, on union contracts with applicable rates and P&W contributions.
I just don't see a major ad agency surrendering their signatory status so they save a few bucks and hire non union talent for a beer commercial and pay the talent small market radio rates.
Major breweries have enormous amounts of money to promote their products.
So much so that at the end of their fiscal year they have promotional funds left over that they just can't find ways to spend. So offering such low rates
for an ad campaign doesn't add up to major agency/major brewery.
This sounds more like a local shop that has acquired a small budget from the local distributor to produce some spots that are related to a promotional campaign, like a radio station giveaway promotion, or something similar to that. And being up sold to the talent pool with some name dropping to inspire talent to work cheap for the exposure to the parent agency and the client, which will never actually happen.
It wouldn't be the first time. |

I shall channel my late Father and blame the Germans. It's not ACTUALLY their fault. I believe being shot at them for 8 years in total, non-consecutive, may have coloured his judgement. In fairness, most people who met my Father ended up wanting to shoot at him, he was that type of person.
I had this conversation with the creatives for a German ad agency.
"How would he feel if our client gave you one of their GERMAN cars?"
"FURIOUS" I grinned
Drove that car for 18 months.
Mother's eyesight is no longer that great so she thought I was driving an Audio. No matter though as she likes everyone. Didn't "approve" of my ex-wife. Fair play to her as in the end, neither did I. |
