Very interesting and fun. They're mostly too young to have heard my nominee for worst British accent by an American: Kevin Costner in Robin Hood: Prince of Thieves. WHEN he was doing a British accent, which was about half the time, it were awrful (as some of our British friends might say).

Gee, while we're on the topic, what's with some Brits throwing half the consonants away much of the time?
As in "what's the matter with him?" is delivered as "wha's 'e mah-uh wi' 'im?"
Vive la difference!

They don't call the improv game "Dick Van Dyke" for nothin'.
I tend to agree with Bruce. Costner could almost seem to change accents in one scene.
+1 for Don Cheadle too. What's the deal with Cockney accents? (please tell me you just heard that in Seinfeld's voice) _________________ “Real freedom is freedom from the opinions of others. Above all, freedom from your opinions about yourself. ”

I love it!
In a few weeks I'm going to take a dialect class and see if I can upgrade mine from "not attempted" to at least "poor, with some chance of identifying a path forward. _________________ jen@jengosnell.com

Fabulous. When I visited the UK I loved it there...the accents are what makes it! |
