I'm sure that's what an editing tutorial sounds like to the uninitiated, and actually some of today's fancy plug-in descriptions sound like that to me, and I was editing for many years before razor blades were abandoned.
It really is easy to just edit and master voice-only tracks, if you have an ear for it, decent yet simple software, and many hours of patient practice time. Without all three of those then hiring a pro is your best bet.
