Both bits, parts, auditions. You are reading at me and you don't hear that element.
DON'T PANIC! It's tougher than a really tough thing which has just been re-launched "Now with added toughness for those who want it TOUGH!"
Should some of m'colleagues on here respond "Well, it's all about acting as a voice actor because we act with our voices". Take no notice because if THEY are VOICE ACTORS then I'm Hermione Gingold.
"To call him a dog hardly seems to do him justice, though inasmuch as he had four legs, a tail, and barked, I admit he was, to all outward appearances. .."
Now, you. Here goes.
I now own one of the mics that used to live in the voice over booth at BBC television centre in Shepherd's Bush, London. It was the mic used by the promo department. On this mic was stuck a sticker. On the sticker was printed the following.
TALK
TO
ME
Do that. Make eye contact not a noise.
Have a fabby day! |

If you’re asking for a technical critique by listing your equipment, you’re fine. Sounds good. As far as the read I’ll echo Philip. We need to believe you believe what you’re saying, that you’re more than a paid announcer. That comes with practice and training. Keep it up!

Phil, Bruce, and Todd - Thanks so much for the input. I have much to learn, and I feel I can't shake the "announcer" side of doing the scripts. Even though I tone it down- I will continue and hopefully find a way to snap out of that and continue to improve. I will continue my classes- and practice, practice!
You guys rock!
Thanks! |
